This is what we love doing most! We come from a background of exploration in the Indian Himalaya, and love to take on unclimbed peaks or peaks with few ascents. Fortunately for us, the Indian Himalaya is full of such peaks. While many are of a technical nature, there are peaks that are possible by all skill levels.
As Alpinists ourselves, we have explored almost all valleys of the Western Himalaya. We are also pioneers in the Indian Karakoram. Our numerous personal failures (and some successful summits!) have taught us exactly what is needed for an alpinist to safely climb a mountain in the Indian Himalaya. Get in touch with us if you’re looking for an India logistics partner who understands you and is rooting for your success. .
Do you have a peak in mind that everybody else thinks is too crazy? Or do you have a family you’d like to take trekking, and make sure the kids learn as much as their grandparents?
No matter what your mountain travel requirments, please get in touch with us. We provide everything from curated accomodation for families to Sherpa Support for those looking to set personal altitude records.
Our mountaineering courses have a focus on Him-alpinism, our indigenously developed style that blends Alpinism and Expeditionary tactics.
We lay a lot of emphasis on ropework, safety, movement skills on rock and ice. Our courses are run in small groups with a 1:2 instructor – student ratio. We do not teach using the archaic military style prevalent in India, but instead use a contributory, cooperative approach to learning, using positive feedback.

“Scaling Dzo Gong with Karn and Namgyal:
Planning – I went into the trip with a few doubts about my fitness ( torn ACL), and a few questions about how beginners could fare on a Himalayan 6000+m expedition. But Karn and Namgyal’s professionalism and personalised care put me at ease. From kit selection and support to travel advice to the initial acclimatisation at Leh, everything was meticulously planned. By making me a part of the process, not only did I feel included as part of the team, but it also built my confidence.
Logistics – The camp arrangements, cooking, porterage, etc. were well planned and coordinated. The support team was highly professional and kept us fed and in high-energy state throughout the trip, come hail or snow. In spite of the rigours of high altitude camping, I never felt rushed. The team always had time for questions and fun. The light atmosphere and professional set-up was a great motivator.
Execution – The team’s knowledge of the area, the weather and local conditions was instrumental in planning the daily routine well, and also the final push (which had to be delayed because of inclement weather). The fact that the plan easily translated into smooth execution says a lot about the team’s professionalism and ability to take hard decisions under pressure. I was truly amazed and count this among the valuable lessons (of the many) that I learnt on the way.
Conclusion – 5 Stars ++ for the experience of a life time. I came way greatly confident of my abilities. It was great to scale the peak, but even had we faced the possibility of turning back due weather, I would still rate this among my best outdoor experiences. I recommend the team highly and I also look forward to my next adventure with the mountain tamers!”
